Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Mental Health Trainer.
Experiencing generalised and social anxiety by the age of 16, Jo sought professional advice was told that she would always suffer from anxiety. Refusing to accept that her anxiety was something she would have to live with, Jo turned to research and education. What Jo learned inspired her to retrain in mental health to deliver a different message; recovery and wellbeing fitness is possible.
Jo has created a wellbeing lifestyle for herself, based on scientific evidence and honed by a decade of exploration of different methods and techniques. She has taught in schools, helped develop a mental health and wellbeing education service for the NHS and has spoken publicly about recovery at a homeless summit.
Her holistic approach to wellbeing focuses on understanding the root cause of distress and how to optimise health and wellbeing rather than just treating symptoms. It’s this that has helped her successfully create flexible bespoke wellbeing programmes for young people and adults both on an individual basis and through schools, charities and businesses.
Jo lives in Somerset with her family and a trainee therapy assistant in the form of her collie-cocker puppy, Sky.
