Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Trainer.
Experiencing generalised and social anxiety by the age of 16, Jo sought professional advice and was told that she would always suffer from anxiety. Refusing to accept that her anxiety was something she would have to live with, Jo turned to research and education. What Jo learned inspired her to retrain in mental health to deliver a different message; recovery and wellbeing fitness is possible.
Jo has created a wellbeing lifestyle for herself, based on scientific evidence and honed by a decade of exploration of different methods and techniques. She has taught in schools, been part of a project team that developed an NHS mental health and wellbeing education service with more than 2,000 students, co-designed and delivered a variety of courses and has spoken publicly about wellbeing and recovery.
Her person-centred approach focuses on understanding the root cause of distress and how to optimise health and wellbeing rather than just treating symptoms. It’s this that has helped her successfully create flexible bespoke wellbeing programmes for young people and adults both on an individual basis and through schools, charities and businesses.
Always dedicated to enhancing the service she offers, Jo is continuing her education and is now studying for an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Jo lives in Somerset with her family and a wellbeing assistant in the form of her collie-cocker puppy, Sky.
